Destroy Roy is a short movie filmed in Austin, TX.

It was written by newspaper reporter Andrea Ball and her husband, Todd Gernert.

Andrea directed. Todd acted. And co-producer Brian Diggs kept us from attacking each other on the way to divorce court.

Destroy Roy was produced with all-local talent. Many of the actors are reporters or editors. All of us would like very much to keep our day jobs.

But newspapers are in trouble right now. Layoffs, buyouts, plummeting circulation. People are frustrated and worried about the future.

So why on earth would we tempt fate with a spoof on the news industry?

To blow off steam. To laugh. To mock. Definitely mock.

This movie is about making the best of the worst of times. People without a sense of humor need not apply.
